The ground-breaking ceremony on Tuesday morning marked the start of construction work on Gerhard Mann's new logistics hall in Landshut. Despite the grey weather, the mood at the event was extremely good - a welcome change from the current often gloomy economic news.
Among the guests were the second mayor of Landshut, Thomas Haslinger, the managing director of Gerhard Mann, Benedikt Forsthofer, and Michel Luger, head of the Office for Economy, Marketing and Tourism of the city of Landshut.
The DELTA Gruppe is responsible for the general planning of this important construction project. We have been working closely with Gerhard Mann for a good three years to realise the new logistics hall with goods issue building. The hall is being built on the company premises on Benzstrasse, where an old hall from the 1950s has been demolished over the past three weeks. The new building will cover an area of 3,300 square metres.
In his speech, Benedikt Forsthofer emphasised the importance of regional cooperation: ‘This project is all about regional cooperation and is being realised with partners from the region.’
After the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony, the excavators got straight to work and the first concrete work is now underway. The first prefabricated elements will be erected in the coming week.
We are looking forward to the upcoming construction phases and the highlights of this project. As the second mayor Thomas Haslinger said: ‘The ground-breaking ceremony marks the start of a series of pleasing events that will culminate in the topping-out ceremony and the inauguration of the new logistics hall.’
