- construction phase 1We plan the learning environments of tomorrow.In close cooperation between the district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm and the local council of Geisenfeld, a new building is being constructed to replace the secondary school complex, including a modern canteen. The extensive project is divided into four construction phases. In this first phase, the sports hall, originally built in 1975 and an old garage were removed. This phase was combined with a thorough remediation of pollutants.
- construction phase 2The future begins here.The basement is primarily accessible at ground level and contains specialist subject and technical rooms. Level 02 hosts the music department, the central auditorium with gallery level? section and stage, as well as offices for the school admin and directorate. Levels 03 and 05 will be fitted with classrooms, while level 04 will provide additional specialist subject rooms for chemistry, physics, and biology. The ventilation system will be installed on level 06.
- construction phase 2Quality & AestheticsThe new building will be a solid construction with reinforced concrete external walls & ventilated slab curtain wall and reinforced concrete ceilings. In addition, solid masonry or reinforced concrete interior walls are largely used. Thanks to the use of sustainable materials and technologies, this construction method is considered very environmentally friendly.
- construction phase 2Stability & Load-Bearing CapacityThe foundations are made with up to 80 cm thick, load-bearing floor slabs with frost apron. The thick floor slab ensures a high load-bearing capacity and also provides some thermal insulation. The frost apron shields the foundation from the effects of frost and avoids ground movements that might damage the building structure. The combination of the thickness and the frost apron significantly increases the longevity of the foundation and reduces maintenance costs.
