The opening of the refurbished hospital pharmacy at one of a group of affiliated regional hospitals, Landshut-Achdorf, marks the successful completion of a major upgrade project in the healthcare sector. The state-of-the-art facilities set new standards in terms of functionality and workflow design and will help ensure a reliable supply of medications to multiple hospital locations in the future.

The modernization of the pharmacy facilities was the result of a redevelopment process spanning several years, which was carried out in two construction phases. As early as 2020, the previous premises were considered outdated due to their narrow and dark passageways. The newly completed pharmacy offers a bright, modern work environment that is ideally suited to the demands of daily clinical practice.

The hospital management also acknowledged the importance of the project: At the opening ceremony, representatives from the group of affiliated regional hospitals in Landshut emphasized that the new pharmacy facilities are among the most modern in all of Lower Bavaria and will strengthen healthcare services across the hospital group at the Landshut-Achdorf, Vilsbiburg, and Rottenburg locations in the long term.

As part of the project, our firm was commissioned to oversee construction and handle documentation. This meant that we were responsible for ongoing quality control and construction supervision, coordinating the various trades on the construction site, ensuring compliance with standards, and compiling a complete set of construction documents.

Our team closely monitored the construction progress, saw to the smooth running of the project and ensured that the intended functional and hygiene requirements of a modern hospital pharmacy were fully met.

Despite the ongoing refurbishment work, the supply of medications remained uninterrupted—a major organizational achievement by the hospital that highlights the crucial role of the pharmacy. For decades, it has been a central component of the hospital’s infrastructure, supplying not only the facilities of the regional group of hospitals, but also the regional emergency medical services. The modernization thus benefits far more than just a single location.
